Irina Fortey
Family Photographer

Irina is the founder of Irina Fortey Photography.  She is a retired wedding photographer, documentary artist in pursuit of candid family photographs, creator of a project called The Missing Frame ™, holder of a bachelor’s degree in business and economics (who never pursued it as a career), a part-time educator, a mindful mama, a writer, an empath, humanist, a recovering perfectionist, and visual storyteller.

She values truth, vulnerability, and authenticity. She is drawn to stories that unite us and show humanity. Irina photographs in traditional methods incorporating film in almost all of her sessions and exclusively capturing the outdoor world using film photography.

Irina lives in Ottawa with her partner Mihkel, their son Patrick, daughter Katriina, and their Australian Labradoodle Leksi. On her days off, you’ll find her gardening or documenting plant life.

Sylvia Corzato
Parent Consultant

(Specializing in Autism, Anxiety Disorder, ADD/ADHD & Learning Disabilities)

Sylvia Corzato is a parent consultant and founder of Success in Steps with over 20 years of experience working with children and their families.

Sylvia Corzato holds a B.A degree in Psychology and a B.A degree in Sociology that focused on child development and non-verbal communication from Carleton University. Sylvia additionally holds certifications in Child and Youth Counselling and a certification in Coaching and is currently pursuing her Master's in Counselling Psychology. 

As a mother of two children, she has a personal and practical understanding of the joys and challenges of parenting that are faced daily. Sylvia is a consultant who assists those in need; her objective is to help families make small adjustments to make big improvements.

Carrie Owen
Occupational Therapist 

(Specializing in feeding issues)

Carrie is the -founder of Sweet Pea Occupational Therapy.   She is an accredited Occupational Therapist, program designer, facilitator, researcher, lecturer and author in the field of feeding and related developmental needs of infants, children and teens. Carrie is the owner of Sweet Pea Therapy and co-owner of Tube Free Living, helping families with infants, children and teens who have feeding challenges. She coordinated, developed and consults to the feeding clinics at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). Carrie has many years working as a Lactation Consultant.

 

Carrie is a clinical researcher and has published in the Nutrition in Clinical Practice Journal. She has been the principal investigator for three research projects focusing on interventions for children with pediatric feeding disorders. She developed an Online Learning Module for the reluctant feeder.

 

Carrie lectures at Canadian universities and presents professional workshops on feeding strategies and interventions. She has been an international keynote speaker at recognized Pediatric conferences. Carrie has won two of CHEO’s Gold Ribbon awards for Innovation and Stewardship.

Cindy McAfee
Family Therapist

Cindy McAfee is the co-founder of Balanced Life Therapy.  She is a graduate of the Georgian College Social Service Worker program and is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and The Ontario Social Service Worker Association.

She has over 12 years of experience of supporting Individuals, Couples, Families, Youth & Teens through healing and growth.

Cindy uses Evidence-Based Modalities such as Gottman Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP), Applied Suicide Intervention, and Addictions Counselling. Cindy has facilitates Group Counselling sessions with various life issues and she also has extensive experience with Self-Esteem Groups for Women.  She is a Gottman 7PP Educator and is trained in Screening for Domestic Violence, Family Mediation, and New Ways for Families Mediation.

Cindy has a client centered individual approach that is trailered to each client’s specific needs and goals. She works with individuals by creating a treatment plan to help them achieve goals that are set out in the beginning of counselling, and fundamentally believes that each person is inherently the expert on themselves for them to live their best life.

Lori Preshing
Nutrition Consultant

(Specializing in pediatric nutrition and food sensitivities)

Lori is the founder of Allergies & Me.  Throughout her own personal health challenges and those of her family,  she has become passionate about the study of nutrition and its powerful impact on the body and mind.  She has spent over a decade studying, researching and implementing nutrient intervention and many modalities towards healing, for both her boys with multiple food allergies. 

 

Lori has completed her studies at the CSNN and is now a Nutrition Consultant  (RHN) practicing with various wellness clinics, progressive professionals and corporate events.  Her goal is to create personalized plans that will bring health for the entire family. She is delighted to share recovery stories of those families she has guided to health.
